Sunderland AFC

Sunderland AFC were originally formed by a Glasgow born Sunderland based teacher James Allan in 1879.They moved to Roker Park in 1898 where they remained for 99 years.The stadium became an intimidating place to play for visiting teams with the Sunderland faithful creating the now famous 'Roker Roar'.They now play at The Stadium of Light,at the time the biggest new stadium built since the Second World War with a capacity of 49,000.
